A Shed so far...

North Lowestoft Men's Shed actually started way back in 2019. Inspired by Pakefield Men's Shed, which we visited in Autumn 2019, we set about looking for premises. We met with community officers at East Suffolk Council, with Peter Aldous MP, and with local property owners and estate agents. We looked at many possibilities, managing to track down the owner of a shed who now lived many miles away, we talked with BirdsEye, with Network Rail. And much of that is still happening.

We had decided to go public, as it were, and along came Covid-19.

That stopped us in our tracks. But since the beginning of 2021, we have formed ourselves into a properly constituted group, with, importantly, a bank account. Nothing in it, mind you, but we've got one. We have regular Zoom meetings, we've got a webpage on a Community Website (we are, apparently, a 'spoke'). We've applied for a small 'kick-start' grant and we hope to be out and about in the community as soon as Covid-19 restrictions are eased AND our 2nd Vaccinations have bedded in. 

We think that will be in May.
