No57 started out its life as two shops with one being No56, in 1865 Arthur Stebbings ran a stationers and printers at 56 and Stephen James Rudram ran his Tailors at 57. By 1900 the shop has just become No57 and Dotesio and Todd had taken over the printing business from where they published their Lowestoft Visitor guide books. By 1932 M. F. / . / 22 April, 2024 |

In 1865 No51 is recorded as a Confectioners run by John Robert Cooper and by 1900 it had passed to his son Robert Cooper Junior and the shop in 2016 was a baker's. In the Kelly's Directory of 1932 the shop has passed to Brewsters which is a bakers, pastry-cooks and restaurant. In 1967 the business has passed to Matthes ltd, you can see this in the 2nd picture. / Apparently permanently closed / 22 April, 2024 |

No40 was located in the gap between the Golden Phoenix and Broadland Aquatic's with a small passage running along side Broadland Aquatic's leading to Mariners Score. In 1865 No37 is listed as a Bakers run by Mr William Bennett, in the Kelly's Directory for 1932 the building had become a Veterinary Surgery run by Mr Sidney Smith but by the 1930's until now it is a private house known as St David's in 2016. This impressive pair of Georgian houses started out as one big house and were converted into two houses sometime in the Victorian Era of the town. In 1865 after it was converted, Mr James Canham who was a Harbour pilot, lived at No33. In 1900 Mr Edward Charles Pipe who was a builder lived at No34 he also had his yard down on Whapload Road. / 22 April, 2024 |
