Sparrows Nest Park Sparrows Nest Park CREDIT:Crispin Hook Sparrows Nest originally formed the grounds and formal gardens to the early 19th century thatched summer residence of Robert Sparrow, a local wealthy landowner. The local council bought the gardens in the 1890s. The gardens became a popular venue for concerts and, in 1913, the Borough of Lowestoft commissioned the 1300-seat Pavilion Theatre. Demolished in 1988. / 22 September, 2023

John Reynolds John Reynolds Driver John Reynolds Lowestoft Killed in Action March 1918 From the edition of the Norwich Mercury dated 4th May 1918 there is a picture of a Driver John Reynolds, R.H.A., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Reynolds, 29, Haward Street, Lowestoft, killed on March 31st, after three years service. John is also remembered at St Andrew’s Church in Lowestoft. / 22 September, 2023
